My work is based in the thought that there are recurring patterns in Nature, illustrating our connections. An atom and its electrons like a star and its planets, a seashell like a chrysalis, blood cells like pomegranate fruit, rivers like our veins…microbiology to astronomy and beyond.
Grounded within this divine system, I draw from historical and matriarchal craft traditions, and 20th century culture and design. From Islamic tilework to crocheted afghans, German hexes to Attari 2600 graphics, Art Nouveau to Jim Henson.
With a deep love of color relationships, symmetry, and ornamentation, my work seeks to knit together moments of visual pleasure, and a places to stop and rest from the cerebral and the logistical parts of life.
